The Libertarian Party of Florida congratulates Commissioner Jim Turney on retaining his seat on the Altamonte Springs City Commission. With no challengers filing by the September 2 deadline, Jim was automatically reelected to the District 1 seat under the city’s charter. This marks his fifth consecutive term since first being elected in 2017.
Jim Turney has been a steadfast advocate for liberty for decades. He previously served as Chair of the Libertarian National Committee (1985–1988) and has continued his dedication to advancing Libertarian principles at both the national and local levels. In addition to his service in Altamonte Springs, Jim volunteers his time on the Libertarian Party of Florida’s Rules Committee, helping to strengthen our party’s governance and future.
We are proud to celebrate one of our own serving in public office and demonstrating that Libertarians can and do make a difference in their communities. Congratulations, Commissioner Turney, and thank you for your continued service!
