On July 1, 2026, Fourth Judicial Circuit Judge G.L. Feltel Jr. officially dismissed the lawsuit filed by the Republican Executive Committee of Duval County, which sought to remove our candidate Addison Liberty Patrick  from the ballot for the Jacksonville City Council At-Large Group 1 special election. The judge ruled that the 365-day party registration requirement relied upon by the GOP applies only to primary elections for party nominations. It does not apply to this special consolidated government election. Since Judge Feltel dismissed the GOP’s frivolous lawsuit, Addison’s candidacy officially moves forward and the ballots have already been printed!!

This is a massive win for election integrity, ballot access and voter choice. Jacksonville deserves more than one or two options on the ballot. WATCH THE STORY HERE.

As Addison stated: "We have another option on the ballot. Let’s move forward and let the voters decide."

The Real Timeline: Let’s be clear about what this lawsuit was: an establishment attempt to tie us up in court, drain campaign funds, and run out the clock before the first election on August 18. They wanted to slow Addison’s momentum—instead, they just fired up disenfranchised voters from ALL parties. We only have a few weeks left- help Addison reach Jacksonville voters before voters hit the polls!

We Are Making History Together

🏛️ Setting Precedents & Making History

  • The First Statewide Shield: Addison’s campaign is the FIRST in all of Florida to defeat the weaponization of the state's new 365-day party membership law, creating a  legal persuasive precedent that protects local, independent, and third-party candidates across the entire state. Addison’s legal team just engineered the first winning defensive strategy!

  • Holding the National Line: This wasn't just a local skirmish. The National Libertarian Party identified our race as a frontline target in a coordinated, multi-state effort to suppress voter choices

  • Defending the Voters: Historically, third parties have to sue the government just to get a spot on the ballot. We are the first in Florida to successfully defend against a direct, partisan lawsuit designed to strip your choices away before election day even arrives.

The Media is Noticing — And the Establishment is Panicking

As Addison told The Florida Times-Union following the decision:

"Never underestimate the underdog."

Our victory is sending shockwaves through Jacksonville politics, and national election law experts are taking notice. This isn't just a local story anymore—this is a nationally recognized battle for voter rights, election integrity,  and ballot access.

Check out some of Addison’s media mentions across the city and the country:

Our opponents knew they couldn't beat us on our ideas, so they tried to use frivolous legal intimidation. Because of your support, their attempt to suppress voter choice completely backfired.

A Special Message from Addison Liberty Patrick:

We Won in Court. Now, Help Us Win at the Ballot Box.

This victory belongs to all of us. I want to extend my deepest, most heartfelt thank you to everyone who has already donated, volunteered, and stood by me. Your early support literally kept us in the game.

I also want to give a massive, specific thank you to:

  • 🏛️ The Libertarian Party of Florida Executive Committee for standing firmly with me and backing this fight with an official resolution.

  • 🎙️ Nicole Skelly, my Press Secretary, for running point with the press, fielding inquiries, and ensuring the media told the truth about this establishment overreach.

  • ⚖️ My legal team, including civil rights attorney Michael Minardi et al, for a historic defense of voter rights.

Because the establishment filed this lawsuit against me personally, I am directly on the hook for the legal defense costs.

Right now, I have a $3,500 balance remaining for my legal defense.

The GOP's strategy was to financially paralyze us. I need to reach all Jacksonville voters before August 18, and every dollar we have to spend paying off law firms is a dollar taken away from printing signs, pushing mailers, and getting out the vote. We cannot allow the GOP's frivolous lawsuit and transparent intimidation tactics to stop us from reaching our goal. We beat them in the courtroom—now we need to beat them at the ballot box.

  • 💰 [Donate $25, $50, $100, or more (up to an individual contribution campaign cycle limit of $1,000) to help wipe out the remaining $3,500 legal balance today] Help me clear this personal legal debt immediately so 100% of our incoming resources can go straight toward reaching Jacksonville voters. Legal DEFENSE is funded from campaign contributions.
