Few have contributed to the libertarian movement than Texas Congressman Dr. Ron Paul’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns for President by sparking a renewal of interest in limited constitutional government. In Florida, this interest led to the creation of a network of local “Tenth Amendment Centers” based on the eponymous national organization founded to advocate for the limitation of the federal government’s actions to only the delimited powers delegated during the passage of Obamacare, resisting the passage of the NDAA in support of Internet freedoms and empowering states to nullify intrusive, unconstitutional federal policies. The key organizer in Florida was Andrew Nappi also known as the Florida Tenther. If not for people like Nappi who kept the torch of liberty alive over the years, maybe Florida liberty community would have had less resistance to the tyrannical mandates connected to the 2020 public health emergency. Nappi transitioned from this life last week but the light of his example continues to illuminate our lives.
Below is an obituary containing information for the celebration of the life of Andrew Nappi shared with permission by his friend and former campaign bodyguard for Dr. Ron Paul, John Baeza.
Andrew E. Nappi received his highest award and went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2023. He is preceded in death by his son Andrew Philip Nappi. He is survived by his wife of almost 25 years this December, Tammy Nappi, 2 daughters Kirsty Nappi Roach (John) and Kristin Nappi, Sister Vinnie Gatti (Jimmie), and one grand daughter Audrina Roach. Andrew was a man of God, he was a scholar and entrepreneur from a very young age. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 4, 1954. He has lived in Florida for 40+ years.
Andrew loved his family unconditionally and always helped his fellow man in need. He loved to cook and was an excellent chef. Spending time with his family was always when he was the happiest. One of his proudest moments was walking his daughter Kirsty down the aisle and when his only grandchild Audrina was born.
Andrew was loved by his one and only “older” sibling sister Vinnie from the second she found out that “mommy” was going to have a baby. It had better be a baby brother, because if it was a baby sister “mommy” could leave her at the hospital. She loved her baby brother from the moment she saw him. Andrew’s nieces and nephews (Ninamarie whom predeceased him, “Little” Vinni, and James) loved there “Honey”, as he was called by them. If there was anyone who didnt love Andrew, they missed out on a loving, great and Godly man.
He was loved and adored by his beautiful wife Tammy. “My Tammy” is how Andrew always referred to his adoring wife. She loved her Andrew and is thankful for the 25 years that he gave her.
Andrew was a devoted promoter of Liberty and Freedom. He was a die hard Ron Paul supporter in 2008 and 2012. He did amazing things for both campaigns. He was one of the very few liberty supporters who had a deep knowledge of the U.S. Constitution as well as U.S. history. He was a constitutional expert to say the least. Andrew was known as “The Florida Tenther” and was a big supporter of the 10th Amendment. One of his dearest and best friends John Baeza will forever speak of his legacy and is a huge supporter of what Andrew was very passionate about.
Andrew will be loved and missed by so many until the day we are reunited again.
