Last month, the Libertarian Party of Florida held its Annual Business Meeting within earshot of NASCAR’s famous speedway in Daytona Beach. The convention was hosted at a central, affordable, and family-friendly venue to encourage maximum participation. The weekend started off with a bang at a well-attended shooting event at a local range, featuring LPF guest of honor Spike Cohen. Attendees enjoyed bonding over targets and trigger time, making it one of the most memorable moments of the weekend.
In addition to being a key year for electing new officers, there was significant party business to handle. A proposed realignment of regions generated lively discussion but ultimately did not gain enough support to pass. The Rules Committee voted to consolidate the Legislative Action Committee into the Platform Committee and the Affiliate Support Committee into the Membership Committee. These changes are intended to reduce redundancy, lighten workloads, and build a more efficient and effective structure to support future growth.
Outside of the formal business meeting, breakout sessions focused on campaign strategy and candidate support with Paul Diaz, onboarding for new Executive Committee members, and hands-on training in NationBuilder, our new and powerful customer relationship management platform.
