The Libertarian Part of Florida is always thrilled to see our members writing Letters to the Editor of their local publications, helping to educate others on libertarian philosophy and theory. We caught this gem over the weekend, in the Cape Coral Breeze by Larry Gillis, who previously served as a Director-At-Large for the LPF.

Mr. Gillis writes:

To the editor:

Thanks for Cape Council outlines legislative priorities story published Sept. 29. It tells us that city has a senior government relations consultant to advise the Council on how to get more money out of the state. That includes hustling the Lee County delegation, as well as making trips to Tallahassee.

Lemme restate this, just so that we understand the unholy dynamic that is “in play” here. Specifically, we are paying this consultant to tell our paid Council how to massage our paid delegation into massaging our paid state government into spending even more of our money on their projects.

Shoot me.

If you’ve written a Letter to the Editor for a local publication, or have any other compelling opinion pieces published, please share them with us at [email protected]. We’d be thrilled to promote them on our social media channels and consider them for republishing here!
